Growing up, Gen Z, is not the same thing as growing older

Why Does Gen Z Believe It's 'Aging Like Milk'?
Some say they fear their generation is aging more quickly than others. But as Gen Z-ers enter their late 20s, it's more likely that they are simply getting older. nyt

I acknowledge that much of the pressure to look young stems from the media trying to sell us products we don't need and its fueling this idea. However I attribute some of the visible signs of premature aging to the use of vapes among our generation. I mean the increase in popularity of e-cigarettes was primarily because of teenagers which is older Gen Z. And while I dont think we are aging like milk I do think it's had lasting effects.

I haven't heard anyone I know talking about this. I doubt that we are aging any differently than other generations. I think we are obsessed with our looks, yes, at least many of us--both men and women--, due to social media, and I think a lot of us are scared of growing up, but I don't think that's anything specific to our generation.

The author of "William James's Springs of Delight: The Return to Life, (VU Press, 2001) " Phil Oliver specializes in the American philosophical tradition with supporting interests in applied ethics (particularly Bioethics and Environmental Ethics), Anglo-American literature, history, humanism, naturalism, science and exploration, peripatetic ("walking & talking") philosophy, baseball, cycling, swimming, the pursuit of happiness, and the perpetual dawn of day. "Followers of the Greek Aristotle were known as peripatetics because they passed their days strolling and mind-wrestling through the groves of the Academe. The Romans’ equally high opinion of walking was summed up pithily in the Latin proverb: “It is solved by walking.” Nearly every philosopher-poet worth his salt has voiced similar sentiments. Erasmus recommended a little walk before supper and “after supper do the same.” Thomas Hobbes had an inkwell built into his walking stick to more easily jot down his brainstorms during his rambles. Jean- Jacques Rousseau claimed he could only meditate when walking: “When I stop, I cease to think,” he said. “My mind only works with my legs.” Søren Kierkegaard believed he’d walked himself into his best thoughts. Admirable profession

"...Most of the luxuries, and many of the so called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind. The ancient philosophers, Chinese, Hindoo, Persian, and Greek, were a class than which none has been poorer in outward riches, none so rich in inward. We know not much about them. A proper education
