Fwd: Please include the University Writing Center in your spring curriculum planning and course documents!

Greetings and Happy New Year!

Tutors in the Margaret H. Ordoubadian University Writing Center (UWC) are currently prepping for spring semester and looking forward to supporting MTSU writers! Writers will be able to make appointments with tutors starting on Monday, January 25th

The UWC serves all MTSU writers, from freshmen to PhD candidates, on writing from any discipline, and in any genre. Please help us get the word out to students by mentioning the UWC in your syllabus. You can find an example of a syllabus statement on our website. In addition, we have created a digital class visit, a 5-minute brief introduction to the UWC, which can be embedded in your D2L shells.

We also support writers through course-specific or assignment-specific workshops. The UWC administrative team has worked closely with faculty in diverse programs and departments, such as Agriculture, Nutritional Science, and Social Work, to create workshops and writing support for students in those courses. Please email Erica Cirillo-McCarthy, Director of the UWC, at erica.cirillo-mccarthy@mtsu.edu if you are interested in talking about ways the UWC can support writers in your class.

Wishing everyone a lovely start to the semester.

Many thanks in advance!
