LISTEN. As we close Susan Neiman's Why Grow Up? in Enlightenment tonight I'm most drawn to her late discussion of *Shakespeare and the respective ages and stages of human life. All the world's a stage for sure, but like Neiman I prefer to think of us players as improv artists rather than scripted drones. Resistance to an age of immaturity and imbecility is not futile.
