"...From antiquity to the present the argument, and sometimes the effort, has run in favour of shaping government by agreed and properly instituted law and not by power-hungry individuals like Trump, Putin, Orban and the rest of the political terrorists who now pollute the landscape. In response there is a flicker of hope: young people in Nepal show how, following the example of their peers in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia over the last couple of years. Unlike the well-funded and backroom-controlled movements aimed at recruiting youth for the far-right – a Comintern of fascists – these youth movements are spontaneous, they consist of young people standing up because they know in their bones that their future lies in the present, and they cannot allow it to be hijacked.
