Deplorable

Justice (#9) passes along this display of banned books. So many great ones here, and it's just the tip of the iceberg.* Those who would ban them are truly deplorable.

*Banned & Challenged Classics
  • The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
  • The Catcher in the Rye, by JD Salinger.
  • The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck.
  • To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee.
  • The Color Purple, by Alice Walker.
  • Ulysses, by James Joyce.
  • Beloved, by Toni Morrison.
  • The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding.
  • Many more...50... Texas...

  1. Some people may present the argument that kids shouldn't be exposed to things within these books, but exposure is important. These books provide learning opportunities. Banning them isn't preparing students for life and the real world ahead of them. Why filter realism and limit their knowledge?
