Although I tend to disagree with a lot of the things Descartes has to say, I find myself strongly agreeing with this comment. Books are such a vital part of our lives, and I think that reading them allows us to take a step back from our lives, and submerge ourselves in the lives of the authors'. It is almost like speaking with them on a personal level from reading their direct words.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I tend to read new books, I will agree that it makes you feel connected with the author. Reading and appreciating work they have put their heart and soul into is incredible. While I have never thought of it as a conversation, I can understand it. Through the stories written, we see the beliefs the author has, because their work reflects it.
